Funky Town Community Outline

Community – A group of people living together in one place.
Government
• Funky Town has fewer rules than most communities but they are more strictly enforced. If someone breaks the rules they will have $250 added to their monthly living fee of $3500 for every offense.
• The rules are as follows:
• You must pay your monthly living fee of $3500 on time every month.
• You may not harm another person in any way, only exceptions are proven accidents, self-defense, and if your job permits it.
• No smoking or drugs of any kind is permitted in the walls of Funky Town.
• If anyone tries to sneak into Funky Town, they will be shot on site by the Funky Town Secret Police (FTSP) after extensive water-boarding.
• You may not dirty Funky Town in any way shape or form, if this offense occurs the offender will have the regular $250 added to their monthly living fee and they may or may be subject to extensive community service.
• A board of directors that are elected yearly by the Funky Town community governs funky Town.
Education
• The subjects taught in our school system are as follows:
• Math
• Science
• Business
• English/Arabic
• Social Skills
• Children go to school from the required ages of 5-17 and if they choose can go to college outside the community.
• The education system of Funky Town is different than schools outside FT because are children are drilled the basic skills up until they are ten, when they start learning more in depth topics.
• To help our students, the schools have the most technology out of all the buildings in the community.
Employment
• There is one store in the community that sells everything that the inhabitants will every need. The stores name is Funky Mart.
• Students will be trained for their careers by the executives in that business.
• Our community will be similar to that in the story The Giver because
Money
• People will be paid depending on their career.
• The community uses US dollars.
• Unemployment is not allowed in Funky Town.
Outside Influences
• The community of Funky Town gets all of its supplies from outside sources, mostly from the mainland US.
• The communities policies about trade are very simple, we buy from the supplier with the lowest priced offer. Everything comes into the community through the main harbor.
• Most all services are provided from Funky Mart inside the community.
• Community members are allowed to move in and out of the community as they please.
Responsibilities
• The responsibilities of the children are very small in Funky Town, their main expectation is to show up to school and stay there until the day is done. The responsibilities of the adults are to show up at their jobs and stay there until the day is done and to not break the rules.
• At the age of 18 children will start to have adult responsibilities.
• The elderly in the community have no responsibilities except not to break the basic rules of the community. Someone is considered elderly in the community at the age of 60.
• The elderly people in the community are put in a special home where they are cared for when the turn senile until they die.
Transportation
• The community provides transportation to the people in the form of go-carts when a child turns 12, and cars when someone turns 18. Most of the time you can walk to your destination in the community.
• There is no public transportation in Funky Town due to the face that it is short enough to walk if you need to and all people over the age of 12 have vehicles.
• There is a large ship in the harbor that takes people from the island to the mainland US.
Recreation/Entertainment
• The residents of the community can enjoy the many activities that are going on in the parks at all times. There is also an active nightlife in Funky Town, there is club Myxer and various restaurants.
• To maintain cleanliness and a clean environment in Funky Town there are many strict rules regarding littering and other dirtying of the environment.
• Children often enjoy playing in the parks as well as swimming around the harbor, teenagers have a safe nightclub that they all enjoy very much. Teenagers also enjoy playing in the park as well as swimming in the harbor. Adults mostly enjoy the restaurants and boat trips. The elderly of the community have a center where they can go to enjoy themselves and play games with there friends.
• People can where whatever they want in Funky Town as long as it follows the FTDC (Funky Town Dress Code). But people tend to be more trendy and keep up with current styles.
